The Curtis Parent Organization (CPO) is a nonprofit organization, run by volunteers, comprised of parents and guardians of Ephraim Curtis Middle School students.

Our mission is to support the school with volunteers and funding for events and activities, enrichment programs, scholarships, and items for the teachers, staff, and administration that will enrich students’ experiences.

Our primary goals are to:

  • Provide scholarships for students
  • Offer cultural and creative enrichment programs
  • Fund items not covered in the SPS budget
  • Thank the teachers, staff, and administration with appreciation events
  • Foster a sense of community within our school

Thank You, Laura Willard!

3/9/2026 5:54 pm

The CPO would like to give special thanks to our Enrichment Lead Laura Willard, who made last week's events with Max Stossel possible. Last year we had one of the most widely attended CPO meetings in recent history, and we heard from numerous families that they were interested in learning more about the topic of social media and technology for themselves and for their students.

Laura heard that call and worked with Principal Mela to bring cutting-edge information to our community on a topic that was clearly in the hearts and minds of many families. Enrichment programs like this are not inexpensive, especially when our distinguished speaker travels from out of state and bears such impressive credentials, so Laura wrote grants and reached out to community sponsors to ensure that the two days of workshops were successfully funded. We are grateful for all of your hard work, Laura!

Support the Curtis Annual Fund

1/26/2026 10:33 pm

The CPO would like to reach our annual fundraising goal by raising $3,000. Thank you to everyone who has donated so far! We're 27% of the way to our goal.

Our annual budget is $25,000, and our funds come from directory sales, business sponsorships, Curtis gear sales, textile donations, school kit sales, and interest on income. 35% of our annual budget comes directly from Curtis families.

Please consider a tax-deductible donation of $15-$20 to help us meet our fundraising target. If even a third of Curtis families donate, we will easily meet this goal!

Your money goes directly to work for the students and for the school in the form of events such as the upcoming workshops with Max Stossel, student scholarships, student social events, end-of-year activities, UA supplies, recess equipment, teacher appreciation events, the tile project in the school hallways, and much more.

Please note that donation acknowledgment letters will be provided by request only. If you require a letter for tax purposes, please email a request to cpotreasurer@gmail.com.

Earn Money for the CPO

10/5/2025 7:07 pm

The CPO earns money by filling the textile bins located in the Curtis parking lot. A check is sent to the CPO based upon the weight of the monthly donations.

The company takes footwear, clothing, linens, and stuffed animals. When cleaning out, bring those bags of textiles to the bins to earn money for the CPO! Please remember to bag your donations.
