We hope you enjoyed the Curtis Open House nights last month! It was great to see so many of you at the Curtis Gear table. Thank you to Ivana Huang and family for helping with the gear sales! Thanks also to Jennifer Spencer and Alicia Larkin, our 8th and 7th grade co-chairs, for introducing the CPO to Curtis families.
In the upcoming weeks, we'll introduce CPO volunteers in our Facebook group. Join us there if you haven't already!

Volunteer with the CPO
10/5/2025 7:14 pm
The CPO has a few open volunteer positions. Limited, flexible hours are involved for all positions:
6th Grade Fundraising (1 person needed): We're looking for a volunteer who can help plan a fundraising "athon" event for Curtis 6th graders (think jog-athon, read-athon, dance-athon, etc.). The specific event is to be determined, and you can help shape what we do.
Lost & Found (1 person needed): We are looking for a 6th grade caregiver who can assist with the Lost & Found this year and then continue this role next year.
May Staff Appreciation (1 person needed): The CPO organizes quarterly staff appreciation events, and we are looking for a volunteer who could lead May staff appreciation.
If you are interested in any of the above positions, or if you'd like more information, please email cochairs@curtiscpo.org. To learn more about the CPO, visit curtiscpo.org. Thanks for your interest!

Support the Curtis Annual Fund
10/5/2025 7:08 pm
Please consider a tax-deductible donation to the CPO to help support cultural, creative, and educational programming at Curtis. The CPO supports a variety of programs and initiatives, including:
- cultural enrichment
- Curtis Messenger
- student scholarships
- student social events
- technology
- end-of-year activities
- classroom curriculum aids for teachers
- UA supplies
- recess equipment
- teacher appreciation events
- library furniture
- the student counseling department
- the tile project in the school hallways
- outdoor beautification projects
- and much more!
These are all important additions to the Curtis community and they truly improve the students’ experience at Curtis Middle School.
This is all possible because of the generosity of the Curtis caregiver community. Your money goes directly to work for the students and the school, improving your child’s learning experience.
Also, please check if your company offers a match to your donation.
Please support the CPO with a tax-deductible donation! We encourage a $100 donation but welcome any amount.
Please note that donation acknowledgment letters will be provided by request only. If you require a letter for tax purposes, please email a request to cpotreasurer@gmail.com.

Earn Money for the CPO
10/5/2025 7:07 pm
The CPO earns money by filling the textile bins located in the Curtis parking lot. A check is sent to the CPO based upon the weight of the monthly donations.
The company takes footwear, clothing, linens, and stuffed animals. When cleaning out, bring those bags of textiles to the bins to earn money for the CPO! Please remember to bag your donations.
